Jan28 Nerd Thing of the Day

In my humble opinion, Google Chrome is one of the best things that has happened to web browsing since…..well since tabbed browsing! If you’re still living in the dinosaur ages surfing with something like Safari or god forbid Internet Explorer (I think I just threw up in my mouth a little), perhaps you should check out Chrome! Among many other things Chrome has an app store–so every time you make a new tab and all your recently visited sites come up, so will your apps! There are many companies out there who are even making apps specifically for the Chrome browser like Tweet Deck and even the New York Times. Check it out here: chrome.google.com/webstore

Dec09 Su Casa Designs Project

The time has finally come: the bombardment of new work here and on my website. For the past few months now, one of my shooting partners and I (Jim Hooper) have been working on a rather large project for Chestnut Hill-based interior design company Su Casa Designs. We have photographed upwards of a dozen residences over that time and along with the launch of their website we have put together a sample of some of that work. See even more either at Su Casa’s website or my main site!

Aug13 Make a YouTube mix tape

Great new website called DragonTape where you can search YouTube and combine a bunch of clips on a timeline and watch them all in succession. Has a great user interface. Works very well, just runs a little slow on my ancient G5 processor.

Jul08 Tech Talk: YouTube Mobile

YouTube has released a mobile version of their website which I have found works far superior to the default YouTube app–at least on my iPhone 3G with iOS4. Compared to the app, the mobile site seems to be faster, easier to navigate, and plays MUCH improved quality videos (especially with addition of the “HQ” button. On your mobile, the site is: m.youtube.com

Here’s a quick video they posted about it

May18 Fstoppers

I don’t normally do this, but these guys have caught my attention so much in the past couple weeks I had to share with you. The new website is called Fstoppers.com. The main premise of the site is to show very well produced ‘behind the scenes’ movies of photo and some video shoots. I’m totally hooked on this site. They are also doing a contest where you can win a Canon 7d or Nikon D300s if you make the best behind the scenes movie–very cool. Hope you enjoy as much as I do, Fstoppers has made it to the top 5 of my daily blog reads!

Dec14 BILL SHARING

I always love when I see cool websites, whether it’s design or productivity, but I love even more when I think other people could benefit. Here’s a site called Bills Are In, and it’s an online-based application that allows you to manage any shared bills–especially helpful if you live in a household with many roommates. Hope you enjoy!

Oct28 HOW DO YOU READ THE NEWS?

Some of us watch the news on TV, some of us listen to the radio, more of us read feeds on our computers or mobile devices. But what about a new, creative interactive way of reading the news? I found it. For you designers out there, you’ll LOVE this! It’s called DoodleBuzz, simply open DoodleBuzz and follow the directions. Trust me, you WON’T be sorry. I found it a bit difficult at first to get used to the interface but the learning curve was all part of the fun. Check out the website here: DoodleBuzz
