It’s here! Anyone can now download the Lightroom 4 Beta. I have not yet played around with it at all but will be posting my comments/videos as soon as I can. Here is a couple new features that Adobe has highlighted:

Highlight and shadow recovery brings out all the detail that your camera captures in dark shadows and bright highlights.
Photo book creation with easy-to-use elegant templates.
Location-based organization lets you find and group images by location, assign locations to images, and display data from GPS-enabled cameras.
White balance brush to refine and adjust white balance in specific areas of your images.
Additional local editing controls let you adjust noise reduction and remove moiré in targeted areas of your images.
Extended video support for organizing, viewing, and making adjustments and edits to video clips.
Easy video publishing lets you edit and share video clips on Facebook and Flickr®.
Soft proofing to preview how an image will look when printed with color-managed printers.
Email directly from Lightroom using the email account of your choice.

Introducing: Bri’s Quick Tips

Ladies and gentleman, I bring you: Bri’s Quick Tips! I’ve been working hush hush on this little gem for some time now and am excited to announce the public beta launch! Bri’s Quick Tips is a new video training portal where I’ll be regularly posting topic-driven short tutorials based in Adobe’s two most popular photography tools: Lightroom and Photoshop.

I find that many online training websites are either too confusing, too in-depth and detailed, or just aren’t being taught by true working professionals in the field who use these tools every day. I have started with a small library but will continue to build it over time. Not only can you search keywords of topics you’re looking for and download bonus material for select videos, but you can rate the videos and even share them with your friends–as every video is on YouTube. Most importantly, this free service has a suggestion box (pops out from the right) where you can suggest topics you’d like to see covered in upcoming videos–even with a file uploader if the suggestion is image specific.

I’ll be making some minor improvements to the system in the very near future to hopefully remove the ‘beta’ tag. In the meantime, I’m always open to feedback and please, share with anyone you know who you think might benefit from this: www.briantetrault.com/quicktips.

Almost seems too easy….except for that huge rig they’re using. I’m just amazed at the results from this. I’m not a huge Audi fan, but I really wasn’t looking at the car much during this video!

After having been literally kicking people off who were building accounts for businesses, Google has officially announced Pages for businesses! Much like fan pages on that OTHER social network…..Google+ is much easier to navigate and isn’t completely full of ads and other crap you don’t want or need to be looking at while you’re hangin’ around the site. What’s Bri been up to? A Knight’s Poem

I recently finished a really interesting and great project for Buckingham Browne & Nichols (BB&N). This shoot involved a lot of pre-production, pinpoint production (shoot day), and much time in post. This was the first kind of project I’ve done like this and it was a really great experience and can’t wait to do more like it! A few SERIOUS shout outs go to my brother, Jeff Tetrault, who helped me right from the beginning with concept and design and was the lead writer and consultant for me. Meg Rodney was a great assistant director and camera operator. Sheryl Lanzel did amazing as production assistant and production still photographer. Scott Venable is the knight (on Gaelen the horse) and Frank Hildebrand did the voiceover. The entire video was shot using Sony FS100 and Canon 5D MkII and edited in FCP7 & Soundtrack Pro.
