May18 Fstoppers

I don’t normally do this, but these guys have caught my attention so much in the past couple weeks I had to share with you. The new website is called Fstoppers.com. The main premise of the site is to show very well produced ‘behind the scenes’ movies of photo and some video shoots. I’m totally hooked on this site. They are also doing a contest where you can win a Canon 7d or Nikon D300s if you make the best behind the scenes movie–very cool. Hope you enjoy as much as I do, Fstoppers has made it to the top 5 of my daily blog reads!

May11 Square Up

I have recently signed up for this free service to be able to accept credit cards…without any type of merchant account. What a cool concept! The best part so far is that everything is free: the app, no fees, no minimums, the hardware that plugs into your phone, pretty much everything. The only catch that I see is that they have to check your credit before you can accept cards and they take a percentage of each transaction: for card swipe, 2.75% + 15¢ and for manual input of numbers (like over the phone) they take 3.5% + 15¢.
